About Us
It's a Family Thing...
Christy and Doug leading a presentation at the Indiana
Youth Hunt. Both are actively involved with Hunter
education and avid youth supporters... Because they
are our Future!
Christy
As a young child Christy spent fall mornings
hunting with her father and now enjoys hunting
with husband and friends. She began showing
Shorthairs in the Mid 80's and Bred our first
litter in 1990. Christy has been the driving force
at Artemis gsp's and is responsible for many of
our BIS, BISS Ch's and Master Hunters. She
also enjoys breeding and showing basenjis.
Christy is currently a licensed AKC Judge for
both conformation and hunt tests.

Doug
When not working full time in the construction industry, Doug is most
likely working on home and farm projects, hunting or volunteering his
time to conservation efforts. He is an engineering graduate from Tri
State University, a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, Centre
Lodge #23 F.&A.M., and the Valley of Indianapolis Ancient Accepted
Scottish Rite. He enjoys auto racing, street rods and riding his Harley
Davidson in what little free time he finds. Doug enjoys all forms of
shooting sports, hunts most all species of fur and feather and travels
the country in pursuit of that passion. He has been a member of most
all conservation and hunting organizations at one time or another. He
is currently active in Quail Unlimited where he formed the Central
Indiana Chapter in 1984 and has been on the state board of directors
since 1992. Doug’s conservation efforts have lead him to positions
on the Indiana Dept of Natural Resources’ Fish and Wildlife
Conservation Committee and the “Turn in a Poacher” program where
he actively sits on the citizens advisory board. He enjoys developing
wildlife habitat and currently manages a deer hunting camp in
Franklin County under the practices of Quality Deer Management
Association. Last but not least, Doug is an active member in the
GSPCI and currently heads the field trial committee.
CHRISTIN
Christin obviously had no choice when it came to picking
out the breed for her, but growing up with them was just
the root of all the love. Christin was allowed to have her
very own GSP after our first litter in 1990. She started
showing "Timmy" at the age of 8. Too young for the AKC
show ring, Christin became active in 4-H from 1993 to
2002 and earned her way to State Fair several of those
years in Obedience and Jr. Showmanship. She received
first place at State Fair in Jr. Showmanship in 1997. She
also participated in AKC Jr. Showmanship for a few years,
but became MIA in the AKC show world when she found
interest in marching band and became captain of the
guard. After high school and 4-H had come to a halt, She
decided to help out with the Artemis breeding program,
and helped to whelp her first litter. Christin is currently a
student at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. She Is
a member of the Sigma Kappa Sorority. She is also active
in the GSPCI and the Logansport Kennel Club. Christin
and her husbend Gary live in Noblesville with Cracker and
Heartland.

to hit the field.
One thing this family has is heart. The love they each
have for the breed just brings them closer to one
another. It is the importance of maintaining breed type
in both field and conformation that keeps them active
in different organizations to help preserve what they
feel is important to maintaining Quality German
Shorthaired Pointers.
